1. Delhi

Delhi, also famous by the name 'Dilli' as pronounced in Hindi, is officially the National Capital Territory (NCT). It not just happens to be one of India's largest cities but is a perfect combination of antiquity and modernity. It is India's second most populous city after Mumbai.
Delhi is renowned for being home to many architectural masterpieces such as the Qutub Minar, the Red Fort, India Gate, Lotus Temple and the Akshardham shrine. Travellers coming to Delhi can explore around see the many wonder that it has to offer.

2. Chandigarh
Situated near the Shivalik foothills in northwest India, the Union Territory of Chandigarh is the capital of two Indian cities - Punjab and Haryana. Its name is derived from an ancient temple on the site dedicated to the Hindu Goddess, Chandi. With its urban design and architecture, Chandigarh is acclaimed worldwide as the first planned city of India. A French architect and urban planner named Le Corbusier designed the city of Chandigarh during the 1950s. One of the popular creations of Le Corbusier, ‘The Open Hand', still stands inside the city at the Capitol Complex. Housing the three bodies of the democratic system and the city emblem, the Capitol Complex is a major tourist attraction here. Another popular spot amongst tourist is the Rock Garden that is an abode of culture and art. Tourists coming to the Chandigarh can explore these various attractions and know more about this place.

3. Daman and Diu
If you are planning on going for a vacation to places that echo natural beauty and serenity, then Daman and Diu, two of the union territories of India, would be the perfect choices. These districts were Portuguese turfs for over 450 years before the Indian Independence and were declared as a part of the Indian republic on 19th December 1961.History states that Daman and Diu have witnessed many wars during the early times. English, Hindi, Gujarati, Portuguese and Marathi are the main languages spoken in these two districts. This laid-back district, with its perfect natural beauty, attracts visitors from all over the world. It is a perfect place to head to and rejuvenate yourself and also explore the many Portuguese ruins that still stand here.

4. Dadra and Nagar Haveli
Dadra and Nagar Haveli is a Union Territory in western India. Nagar Haveli is located between Gujarat and Maharashtra while Dadra lies a few kilometres north of Nagar Haveli in Gujarat. This Union Territory was under the Maratha rule till the Portuguese gained control over the area between 1783 and 1785. The Portuguese reigned supreme for the next 150 years till they were forced out in 1954 by the Indians. However, the Portuguese influence is alive and thriving and is an added charm for visitors who flock here every year to rejuvenate in its natural beauty. The influence of the Portuguese are visible in the architecture, food and lifestyle of the people here. It is haven for wildlife enthisiasts as the wildlife sanctuary here is home some of the endangers species. Travellers coming here can relax in the this beautiful city and get a taste of Portuguese lifestlye.

5. Pondicherry
Pondicherry officially known as Puducherry is a Union Territory having a capital known by the same name. Both the city and the territory boast of a rich legacy inherited from French colonialism which has contributed massively to the unique culture and heritage of the region. Placed on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, Pondicherry was under the French rule and was a major French colony from 16704 until 1954. For travellers who seeks a diversified travel experience, Pondicherry offers an excellent destination. It has some of the finest beaches namely the Promenade beach, Paradise beach, Serenity beach and Auroville beach, which present visitors with a rejuvenating holidaying experience. It is a perfect place to head to and relax under the sun.

6. Andaman and Nicobar Islands
If its seclusion you seek, the Andaman and Nicobar islands are the place to be. This Union Territory has an endless collection of clean white sandy beaches, loads of opportunity for scuba diving and exploring the underwater world and a whole lot of naturally created sightseeing spots that leave you speechless. Off late the Andaman and Nicobar islands have also acquired eco-friendly destination status which adds to the incentive. It is a perfect getaway to be disconnected from the rest of the world and enjoy the beauty of nature.

7. Lakshadweep Islands
Another Union Territory of India are the Lakshadweep Islands which is set of 39 islands and has fast become a tourist hotspot, especially for those sold to the idea of a secluded sun and sand vacation. With over 4200 sq km of lagoon area and 36 sq km of island area, there is something for everyone here. The driving factor backing Lakshadweep's success as a tourist destination has got to be the way nature has been preserved on the islands. The two major islands are Agatti which houses Lakshadweep's domestic airport and Bangaram which is a tourist favorite. The entire setting of Lakshadweep can't help but make you wonder if the place was built for tired city dwellers in search of a break. Fishing is a great way to distress and numerous opportunities prevail at Lakshadweep to fish. Scuba diving is another popular tourist activity.
