Shupiyan, popular as the ‘Apple Bowl' of the State, is situated in the vicinity of Srinagar. This charming place is famous for the production of apple which it supplies to fruit markets all across India.
The town is ancient and holds great historical significance as it is situated on an old colonial route known as the Mughal Road. This route connects the city of Lahore in Pakistan with Srinagar. It was also one of the Wazarat Headquarters in Kashmir from 1872-1892.
Some of the other popular tourist attractions present here include the Jamia Masjid, Kowsernag, Aharbal Waterfall, Kungwatan, Nagi Rai Nag, Rambi Ara and Lawahinthora Shahlatoo. Sulphar Spring, famous for its medicinal properties, situated at Dhobijan is another popular tourist attraction.
