Bengaluru Power Cut Alert: Bescom Plans Electricity Cuts on June 14 & 15; Affected Areas and Timings

Residents and businesses in parts of Bengaluru should get ready for planned power cuts between 13 and 15 June. These outages will happen from 9 AM to 5 PM each day as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) takes up important maintenance work on the Sarjapur-Attibele 66/11 kV line. The move is part of efforts to improve the city's power supply system, but it may bring temporary inconvenience to many areas.

Bengaluru Power Cut Alert

Bengaluru Power Outage Areas

Bescom has shared a list of areas where power will be interrupted during this maintenance period. In Attibele, the localities that will face outages include Yadavanahalli, Dasanapura, Vaddarapalya, Attibele Industrial Area, Ichanguru, Balagaranahalli, Attibele Town, Manchanahalli, Mayasandra, and Harohalli.

In the Anekal region, several places will also be affected. These include Anekal Town, Gowrenahalli, Kavala Hosahalli, Hompalagatta, Choodenahalli, Haldenahalli, Chikkahagade, Honna Kalasapura, Byagadadenahalli, Karpuru, Kada Agrahara, and Doddahagade. People living in Samanduru and nearby areas like Guddanhalli and Aravanatigepura should also expect power cuts.

Bescom has advised people in these areas to plan their daily tasks accordingly. Those working from home or running businesses are especially encouraged to make arrangements to avoid major disruptions.

Why the Work is Important

Though temporary power cuts can be troubling, maintenance like this is necessary to keep the power lines safe and reliable. Bescom's goal is to make sure that the supply of electricity becomes stronger and fewer breakdowns happen in the future.

Residents are encouraged to charge important devices, store water if needed, and finish important tasks before the outages each day. By planning ahead, people can manage the cuts with less trouble.

Concerns About Bengaluru's Roads

Meanwhile, Bengaluru's infrastructure continues to be a talking point for many residents. Recently, former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai voiced concern about the poor condition of roads in the city. He shared a photo of a pothole on X and criticised the repair efforts, calling them "very primitive." He also tagged Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and BBMP Commissioner, saying the poor road condition is a "big shame."

The photo and his post have attracted attention online, especially after rains left many streets damaged and waterlogged.

While Bescom's maintenance work is a step toward better services, the city still faces larger challenges with roads and drainage systems. Better planning and faster repair work are needed to ensure smoother living conditions for Bengaluru's growing population.
