Although Bengaluru did not receive any rain in the past few days, several other parts of Karnataka experienced active pre-monsoon weather. Rain was reported in many areas of north interior Karnataka, a few places along the coastal region, and in some parts of south interior Karnataka as of Wednesday morning.

Karnataka Rainfall
Among the highest rainfall recorded, Mangaluru in Dakshina Kannada received 6 cm of rain. Harapanahalli in Vijayanagara district and Hubballi in Dharwad district each recorded 3 cm, while Nargund in Gadag district also received 3 cm. Udupi district saw lighter rainfall, with about 1 cm recorded. However, Kalaburgi was the hottest place in the state, reaching 39.9°C. Koppal and Raichur were close behind, both recording 39°C.
Karnataka Rain Alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for thunderstorms in some parts of the state. Districts like Belagavi, Dharwad, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, and Kalaburgi may experience thunderstorms with hail and strong winds blowing at speeds of 40-50 kmph. Meanwhile, coastal districts such as Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall along with winds of 30-40 kmph.
Bengaluru's Delayed Rain
The IMD has predicted that isolated rainfall may continue across all three regions of Karnataka: north interior, south interior, and coastal areas until April 28. This indicates that pre-monsoon activity will remain active in the state for the next few days, even though some places, including Bengaluru, are yet to receive rain.
People living in coastal areas, especially in Udupi and Uttara Kannada, should also be prepared for hot and humid weather over the next two days.
