Lucknow Zoo, Lucknow / 2023

Spread over an area of around 72 acres in the heart of the city, Lucknow Zoo or Chiryaghar is an important tourist destination for the tourists and visitors. According to an estimate the Zoo gets footfalls of around ten lakh visitors every year.

It boasts of a huge variety of animal, bird, reptile and mammal species including the Royal Bengal Tiger, lions, wolves, Himalayan Black Bear, rhinoceros, black buck, zebra, mynahs, Asiatic elephant, giraffe, giant squirrels and many more.

The zoo also breeds several animal species including deer, black buck, pheasants, white tiger and many more. It also has a toy train for the pleasure of both the children and the grown ups.

The train with an engine and two coaches were gifted by the Railway Board. It runs over a track of 1.5 km. Starting from Chanderpuri station, it passes through crossings and signals as it chugs through almost every important location in the zoo.
