Khanqah Of Khwaja Moinuddin Naqshbandi, Srinagar

Khanqah of Khwaja Moinuddin Naqshbandi, popularly known as the Naqshband Shrine is situated in the centre of Srinagar City. This shrine holds great religious significance related to the Islamic belief system as it is believed that the Moi-e-Muqaddas or the holy hair of Prophet Mohammed was originally kept here before being shifted to the Hazratbal Mosque.

This mosque was erected by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The structure is popular for its intricate khatamband ceilings, a ceiling art wherein small wood pieces are fitted together by hand without the use of nails to form geometrical designs and inscriptions of archaeological importance.
