The Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the Noida Metro's Aqua Line from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142 to boost travel in Delhi NCR. The new elevated corridor will be 11.56 km long and will include eight new stations. The project will cost around ₹2,254 crore and is

expected to be completed within four years. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 14, 2026. This move is expected to improve metro connectivity in important commercial and residential areas of Noida and Greater Noida.
Starting & Ending Points
The new line will start from the existing Botanical Garden Metro Station and pass through key business centres, housing areas, and job hubs along the route. Once the extension is completed, the total metro network in Noida and Greater Noida will increase to more than 61 km, making travel easier for daily commuters.
Noida Metro's Project
The project will be carried out by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRC). At present, passengers traveling between the Aqua Line and the Delhi Metro's Blue and Magenta Lines have to get down at Sector 52 and walk to Sector 51 to change trains, which is often inconvenient. With the new extension, commuters will be able to change trains directly at Botanical Garden station, saving time and effort.
Botanical Garden Station as an Interchange Point
The Botanical Garden station will become a major interchange point, connecting the Aqua Line with the Blue and Magenta Lines, allowing smooth travel between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi. It will also improve access to Indira Gandhi International Airport and important railway stations, making daily travel more comfortable and efficient.
