The Union government has approved the Jaipur Metro Phase II project, a major expansion of the city's metro network, which will add a new 41-kilometre corridor aimed at improving public transport and reducing traffic congestion in Jaipur.

Jaipur Metro Phase II Project
According to reports, the Phase II corridor will run from Prahladpura to Todi Mod and will include 36 stations in total. Out of these, most stations will be elevated, while a few will be underground. The project is expected to improve connectivity across important residential, commercial, and industrial areas of the city.
Jaipur Metro Project Cost
The total cost of the project is estimated at around ₹13,000 crore, and it will be implemented by the Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation as a joint effort between the central and state governments. The corridor will pass through key locations such as industrial areas, hospitals, educational hubs, and transport centres, making travel easier for daily commuters.
How is this Project Implemented?
This new metro line will connect to the existing Jaipur Metro Phase I network, so passengers can switch easily between routes. Officials believe this will make travel faster, smoother, and more convenient across the city. The project is also expected to reduce the number of vehicles on the road, which will help lower traffic jams and pollution levels. Better public transport is expected to encourage more people to use the metro instead of private vehicles.
Jaipur Metro Phase II Construction Work
Construction work is likely to begin after all final approvals and tender processes are completed. The project is expected to be completed in the coming years in phases, with different sections being built simultaneously to speed up progress.
