Jama Masjid, Gaya

Jama Masjid is said to be located at the heart of Gaya and has received the status of being the largest mosque in Bihar. It was built almost 200 years back by the Royal family of Muzzafarpur and it is famous for the celebrations of Shabina and Tabligh. Shabina is perfomed on the 27th night of Ramdan and Tabligh refers to the propagation of the message of Islam.

The mosque, though old, has long been preserving the faith of the followers and celebrating the love of the Almighty. The Shai Gate’s minarets are worthing of watching, adding to the splendid beauty of the mosque.

During the celebration of the Muslim festivals, huge crowds turn around to seek the blessings of Allah. The shrine of Hazrat Makhdoom Syed Shah is popular among the followers and they worship him and come and seek his blessing to get rid of their sins.
