Gaya Weather

The best time to plan the journey is from the month of September when the pilgrimage actually commences and it reaches at peak in the month of January. The ideal time to visit Gaya is between November and February. However Gaya attracts a large number of devotees during Buddha Jayanti celebrations during the month of May.

Summer

Gaya is situated in the tropical region and hence experiences very hot summers. The maximum temperature that is being experienced rises up to 45 ºC. One must wear and carry light cotton clothes while visiting Gaya in the summer season.

Monsoon

The monsoon season starts from July and end till September. The entire area experiences heavy rainfall in this season. It is because of this reason it is advised to avoid traveling to Gaya in rainy season.

Winter

The winter season starts from October and ends in March and this season is considered as the best time to travel to Gaya. During November to February the temperature is very cool type and soothing and appropriate to explore this area. Woolen clothes are also must during this season for visitors.
