Shahi Bridge

Also known as Akbari Bridge or Mughal Bridge, Shahi Bridge was built during the 16th century under the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is one of the few instances of Mughal architecture in and around the region of Jaunpur.
Hence, Jaunpur is also sometimes referred to as the city of Shahi Bridge by locals and several tourists. Even though it partially collapsed during the 1934 earthquake, it is still in use. Shahi Bridge is built on Gomti river and is a must-visit historical place in Jaunpur.

Lal Darwaza Masjid

Another architectural beauty in the form of a beautiful mosque, Lal Darwaza Masjid was built during the 15th century by Rajye Bibi who was the queen of Sultan Mahmood Sharqi. Being one of the most noted figures in Jaunpur, this marvellous mosque is visited by thousands of tourists every year.
Lal Darwaza Masjid is dedicated to Sayyid Ali Dawood Qutubuddin, a significant saint during the Sharqi dynasty. It served as a private mosque to Rajye Bibi until her death. You must not miss this beauty of Islamic architecture while in Jaunpur.
