Omkarananda Ashram, Rishikesh

Omkarananda Ashram was founded in 1967 and is located near Muni-ke-Reti. Situated on the banks of the holy river Ganga, it is close to the Lakshman Jhoola and Sivananda Nagar. It was built by a noted Hindu sage, H.D. Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, who was also a philosopher and writer.

All the ashrams of Omkarananda are in the form of temples, where devotees offer prayers and sing bhajans. Apart from spiritual activities, meditation classes and yagnas are organised in the ashram. The ashram also runs charitable trusts such as Omkarananda Dharma Samsthan, Omkarananda Charitable Trust and Omkarananda Educational Society.

This ashram works in social, spiritual, cultural and educational fields. People can learn classical music and dance in the school located in the premises of the ashram.
