Snake Park, Malampuzha

Snake Park, a reptile rehabilitation centre, is situated close to Malampuzha Dam and Malampuzha Gardens. With a wide variety and species of snakes, the park attracts visitors all around the year. Both poisonous and non-poisonous snakes are housed in this park which is under the administration of the Forest Department.

It is safe to walk around the park and watch different species of snakes. The park acts as a reptile rescue centre as well where injured snakes can be taken to. Established in 1984, the snake park is home to a number of snake species such as King cobra, Brown Vine Snake, Kraits, Indian Rock Python, Common Cobra, Trinket Snake, Monocled Cobra, Spectacled Cobra, Rock Pit Viper, Wolf Snake and much more.

Water snakes and other reptiles such as crocodiles are also conserved in this park. Snake Park is easily accessible from Palakkad town and offers an educative experience to those who visit it.
