Mathur Aqueduct Hanging Trough / Mathoor Hanging Bridge, Kanyakumari

Across the river Pahruli, a serviceable Bridge was constructed in the year 1966, which is known as the Mathur hanging bridge. Being the highest and the longest hanging bridge in Asia with a length of around 1 km, this bridge is supported by 28 pillars having a height of 115 feet. It was built primarily to serve the irrigation requirements of Vilavancode and Kalkulam Taluks, but now it has also emerged as a tourist attraction.
