Noida Metro Opens Bids for Kiosks and Shops at Sector 83 Metro, Aims to Boost Passenger Convenience

Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has invited bids to set up kiosks and commercial shops at Sector 83 metro station, which is an important part of its plan to improve passenger facilities and generate additional revenue apart from ticket fares. As per the tender details, around 610 square metres of

space is available on the first floor of the station. At the platform level, 845 square metres and 1,530 square metres of space are available for commercial use. The minimum reserve price for the space has been fixed at Rs 205 per square metre.

What is the Reason Behind this Initiative?

Officials said the aim is to make the metro station a "one-stop solution" for commuters by offering useful services and shops within the premises. By doing this, NMRC hopes to make travel more convenient for passengers while also increasing non-fare revenue. The shops will have dual access. This means people can enter them directly from outside without going into the paid ticket area. At the same time, passengers travelling by metro can also easily access these outlets.

How Will it Benefit Commuters?

This arrangement is expected to be especially helpful for daily office-goers and regular commuters who depend on the metro for last-mile connectivity. Having shops and kiosks inside the station will save time and make daily travel more comfortable.

Noida's Aqua Line

Currently, the Aqua Line connects Noida Sector 51 to Depot Station in Greater Noida. The corridor sees an average daily ridership of about 63,079 passengers, according to January 2026 data. A skywalk connecting Sector 51 and Sector 52 stations is also likely to open within a month, improving connectivity.

Recently, the Union Cabinet approved the extension of the Aqua Line from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142, covering 11.56 km, which will further expand metro services in the region.
