Suspension of Patna Metro Services

Officials said this temporary change has been made to ensure passenger safety and to manage large crowds during the festival. Since Holi is usually celebrated in the morning, authorities decided to suspend services during that time and resume operations later in the day.

At the same time, the district administration has asked major government hospitals in the city to stay alert. Outpatient department (OPD) services will remain closed on Holi, but emergency services will continue without any break.

Festive-related Emergencies

Special arrangements have been made at Patna Medical College and Hospital, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna. Around 75 beds have been reserved across these four hospitals for any Holi-related emergencies. Extra medicines have been stocked in emergency wards, and doctors have been assigned duties on a roster basis.
Authorities expect more cases of eye and ear irritation from colours, as well as injuries during celebrations. Specialists from departments like ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopaedics, surgery, and general medicine will remain on standby. At PMCH, 20 beds have been kept ready for emergencies, and the trauma centre at AIIMS Patna has also prepared for accident cases.

Emergency contact numbers have been shared with the public. Officials have advised residents to seek medical help immediately if needed and assured that hospitals and ambulance services are fully prepared.
