Indian Railways has announced several festival special trains to manage the expected rush during Diwali and Chhath Puja, which will operate on important routes connecting cities across north, east, and south India, giving passengers more travel options during the festive season.
Diwali & Chhath Puja Special Trains: Kanpur-Bengaluru special train
Southern Railway will operate a special service between Kanpur Central and SMVT Bengaluru. Train No. 04131 will leave Kanpur Central every Sunday from October 4 at 4:30 pm. The return train, No. 04132, will depart SMVT Bengaluru every Wednesday from October 7 at 7:10 am. The train will halt at Prayagraj, Satna, Itarsi, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Nellore, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Krishnarajapuram.
Diwali & Chhath Puja Special Trains: Varanasi-Delhi special
The Varanasi-Delhi-Varanasi Reserved Special Express, Train Nos. 04209 and 04210, will make 50 trips. Train No. 04209 will leave Varanasi at 10:15 pm and reach Delhi at 1:45 pm the next day. It will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from October 2 to November 27. Train No. 04210 will depart Delhi at 6:50 pm and reach Varanasi at 9:50 am the following day. It will run every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from October 2 to November 28. The train will have AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper and General coaches.
Diwali & Chhath Puja Special Trains: Ayodhya-Delhi service
Train Nos. 04213 and 04214 will connect Ayodhya Cantt with Anand Vihar Terminal, making 36 trips. Train No. 04213 will depart Ayodhya Cantt at 6:20 pm and arrive at Anand Vihar at 6:10 am the next day. Train No. 04214 will leave Anand Vihar at 9 am and reach Ayodhya Cantt at 10 pm the same day. The service will operate on scheduled days between October 1 and November 30.
Diwali & Chhath Puja Special Trains: Chandigarh-Patna and Firozpur-Patna trains
The Chandigarh-Patna Special, Train Nos. 04512 and 04511, will make 18 trips through Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Varanasi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara and Danapur. The Firozpur Cantt-Patna Special, Train Nos. 04616 and 04615, will make 16 trips via Moga, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Varanasi and Buxar.
