The temple is located on the Girnar Hills and is considered an important destination by Jains. The temple is dedicated to Neminatha, the 22nd tirthankara of the Jains who was the son of Samudra Vijaya. This is also the site where Neminath passed away after 400 years of meditation. The idol of Neminath is believed to be the oldest idol of the world.
