The Statue of Unity/ 2023, Ahmedabad

Inaugurated on 31 October 2018 on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the Statue of Unity is located in the Indian state of Gujarat. Considered the iron man of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was the architect of independent India, responsible for uniting all 562 princely states of the country to build the Republic of India.

His iconic memorial statue, " the Statue of Unity", is dedicated to him to show the country's gratitude towards his leadership during the freedom struggle and his cooperation after independence. This tallest statue in the world, with a height of 182 meters (597 ft), is Established on the river Narmada in Kevadiya Colony. Located against the backdrop of the dramatic Satpura and Vindhyachal hills, facing the sprawling Sardar Sarovar Dam, the statue is standing on the Sadhu Bet hillock. It is connected by a 300-meter bridge, which offers access to the statue from the mainland.

In an outreach program for the project, the Indian farmers donated their used farming equipment to amass the iron needed for the statue of Sardar Patel, and about 5000 tonnes of iron are believed to be collected. Details of the construction work and the history of the leader can be seen in an in-house museum inside the statue.
