India has plenty of destinations that are worth exploring. When many of them are popular and often crowded with tourists from all over the world, many of them are unexplored and unheard of. Let's explore Tirthan Valley, one of the lesser known places in Himachal Pradesh!

This untouched land has something to offer to nature lovers and adventure seekers. Located around 3km from the Great Himalayam National Park, this place can be visited to get engaged in some adventure sports, or to just enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the region.

This haven which is located at an altitude of 1600m above sea level, in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, is a perfect place for an escape from your busy life, and to experience some great adventure. Some of the adventure sports that you can involve in include trout fishing, camping, trekking and hiking.

Apart from the adventure that can be carried out at Tirthan Valley, this hidden treasure is a great place for photography. Since the place is unexplored, you will not find it crowded like some of its nearby tourist destinations like Kasol and Manali.

On your trip to Tirthan Valley, the places that you can visit along with the valley are the waterfalls here, the Great Himalayan National Park, Jaroli Pass and Serloskar Lake.

Places to Stay at Tirthan Valley

Though are not many stay options available at Tirthan Valley, there are some guest houses and budget hotels that you can halt at during your trip to this beautiful place.

Places to Eat at Tirthan Valley

Since it is a small and unexplored place, you may not find restaurants or other eateries outside the stay options. Restaurants are, however, present in Banjar which is not too far from the valley.

Best Time to Visit Tirthan Valley

The best time to explore Tirthan Valley are from March to June, and during the months of October and November. Any season is apt for trekking and camping. For trout fishing, the warmer months are ideal and from December to March it is advised to wear and carry warm clothes as the region is snowy and cold during this time.

Some tips to follow:

  • Carry some food with you as you may not find any other eating outlets other than the stay options available.
  • Since you would have to walk a lot, please ensure that you carry an extra pair of shoes.
  • Since there are not many stay options here, ensure that you book rooms in advance.
