Indian Railways is planning to introduce five new modern trains through Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, including two Vande Bharat Express trains and three Amrit Bharat Express services. These new trains are expected to improve rail connectivity between Bareilly and several major cities across India.

Amrit Bharat Express Train Operations
According to railway officials, surveys for these new routes have already started. The aim is to run the trains through Bareilly in the upcoming financial year beginning in April. One of the Amrit Bharat Express trains may start operating by the end of April, while the remaining services are expected to roll out gradually during the 2026-27 financial year. The upcoming trains are expected to connect Bareilly with several important cities, including Jaipur, Mumbai, Agra, Delhi, and Bengaluru. Railway officials believe that these new services will reduce travel time and make long-distance journeys faster and more comfortable for passengers.
Improving Railway Connectivity
Another major focus of this plan is to improve railway connectivity in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. At present, important gateway towns to the hills, such as Kathgodam, Lalkuan, Ramnagar, and Tanakpur, do not have Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat services. The new plan aims to link these towns with major cities, improving travel options for both tourists and residents.
At present, three Vande Bharat trains already pass through Bareilly, including services between Dehradun and Lucknow, Saharanpur and Gomti Nagar, and Meerut and Varanasi. With the addition of the new trains, Bareilly is expected to become an even more important railway hub in northern India.
Officials say these modern trains will provide faster journeys, better facilities, and improved connectivity for thousands of passengers travelling between northern, western, and southern parts of the country.
