Jama Masjid, Tonk

Jama Masjid of Tonk is one of the largest mosques in India and wonderfully depicts the great Mughal architectural style of the bygone era. The first Nawab of Tonk, Nawab Amir Khan, started its construction in 1246 AD, and the mosque was finally completed in 1298 AD, during the reign of Nawab Wzirudhoula. The building has four massive minars, which can be seen from a long distance. Golden paintings and Meenakari on the walls enhance the beauty of the mosque.
