Shantinath Temple is a well-known Jain temple belonging to the eastern group of Khajuraho temples. Though it is similar in structure to the other age-old temples in Khajuraho, it is a newly constructed one. This temple is devoted to the famous Jain saint Adinath. This wonderful shrine is regarded as an important pilgrimage for the people believing in the Jain religion.

The main deity of the temple is of 4 ½ m in height. It is in a standing position. The statue was sculpted in the year 1028 AD. A beautiful carving of a bull settled on a pedestal greets visitors. The temple houses several sculptures belonging to the Jain Tirthankars.

The place is ideal for visitors and especially for pilgrims coming to visit the temples scattered around Khajuraho. There is a Dharmashala nearby which provides lodging facilities.
