Tinkitam, Ravangla

Tinkitam is a small town in the South Sikkim district of Sikkim. It takes hardly 45 minutes to reach Tinkitam from the district headquarters. It is popular for its cardamom plantations and exceptional views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. It is also known for the rare species of orchids that grow here named Paphiopedilum Faireanum.

These orchids grow during the months of November and December. The place is totally cut from modern civilization. As there is no electricity, cable vision or even proper roads to the place, the place may not interest every traveller unless you are ready to experience the real feel of an uncivilised piece of land with all its beauty.
