About 40 km from Ranchi on Tata Road near Bundu, stands the elegant Sun Temple fashioned in the form of a huge chariot with richly decorated 18 wheels, 9 on each side, and 7 lively horses ready to gallop. The surroundings of the temple, studded with a pond serving as a sacred place for Chhathavratis are actually nature's bounty to the people of Chhotanagpur.
A beautiful Dharmashala, meant for the pilgrims is under construction. There is a sacred pond with calm and clean water; many devotees take a dip in this holy pond, with a belief that the dip in this pond will give them relief from all the sins committed knowingly and unknowingly.
The pond is also used by devotees during Chhath Puja for worshipping the Sun God. The temple is an ideal tourist destination for devotees as well as for local visitors.
