Puri Jagannath Temple to Launch Dhadi Darshan System for Devotees from Jan 1; Know About It

In a major step to enhance the spiritual experience for devotees, the Odisha government has announced the implementation of a new queue system at the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Known as the Dhadi Darshan system, this initiative aims to organize the flow of devotees, ensuring a smoother and more serene visit. The new system will officially start on January 1, 2025, following trial runs at the end of December.

Jagannath Temple Launch Darshan System

The Dhadi Darshan system is designed to manage the large number of devotees visiting the temple daily. Devotees will enter through the Satapahacha gate (Photos) and exit via two separate gates, Ghanti and Garada, reducing congestion and making the darshan experience more orderly. Special arrangements are also being made to ensure a comfortable visit for women, children, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals.

Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan shared details of the plan during a media briefing, emphasizing the government's commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible environment. He mentioned that preparations for the system are progressing well and will be completed by December 27 or 28. A trial run is scheduled for December 30 and 31, ensuring the system is ready for full operation in January.

Efforts to Modernize and Improve Access

The new system reflects the dedication of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Odisha government to modernizing the temple's facilities while preserving its spiritual significance. Harichandan, along with SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, recently visited the temple premises to monitor the ongoing preparations.

This initiative includes thoughtful planning to improve entry and exit strategies, aiming to reduce waiting times and enhance the overall experience. The restructured pathways signify the administration's focus on providing a peaceful and respectful darshan for all devotees.

Preserving Spiritual Serenity

The introduction of the Dhadi Darshan system marks a significant advancement in managing devotee traffic at one of India's most revered temples. By streamlining the process and ensuring an inclusive approach, the temple administration aims to maintain the sanctity of the temple while enriching the spiritual journeys of visitors.

The new darshan system at Jagannath Temple represents a milestone in improving the worship experience for devotees. Starting January 1, 2025, this well-organized and carefully planned initiative will cater to the needs of diverse visitors, ensuring a smooth, respectful, and spiritually fulfilling journey for everyone.
