Dagpo Shedrupling Monastery, Naggar

Dagpo Shedrupling Monastery, situated on the left bank of the Beas river, is a relatively new monastery in the region. It was inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2005. The monastery, framed by a green valley, is located at a distance of 10 km from Kullu and can be easily accessed by visitors. This monastery provides an insight into the lifestyle of the Tibetan monks living there.

Gilded paintings of Buddha and ‘Thankas’, Tibetan silk paintings usually depicting Buddha, can be seen on the walls of the monastery. Associated with Lamrin, one of the Buddhist paths to the enlightenment, this monastery has been dedicated to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
