Moorish Mosque, Kapurthala

2

Moorish Mosque is located in the centre of the city, reflecting the broad and tolerant thinking of erstwhile rulers. The Archaeological Survey of India has enlisted the Moorish Mosque as a national monument. Designed by the French architect M. Manteaux, this marvellous edifice resembles the Grand Mosque of Marrakech in Morocco.

Many artists from Mayo School of Art, Lahore, beautifully decorated the dome of this structure. The large compound is lined with pure Indian marble that adds a regal touch to the grandeur of this mosque. This structure is sure to capture the attention of travellers, especially those interested in history and art.
