IRCTC Launches 10-Day Dakshin Darshan Yatra from Indore: Book Now for South India Tour

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is offering a special opportunity for travelers with a spiritual heart and love for South India. The "Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train" will take passengers on a 10-day Dakshin Darshan Yatra starting from Indore on 9th June 2025. This train journey, identified with the code WZBG46A, includes confirmed train tickets, accommodation, and meals, ensuring a smooth and memorable trip for every traveler.

Destinations Covered

The train will take passengers to some of the most sacred and scenic locations in South India. The destinations included in the itinerary are Tirupati, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, and Thiruvananthapuram. The entire trip will be completed in 9 nights and 10 days.

Detailed Tour Itinerary

9th June 2025: Departure from Indore

The train will depart from Indore, with passenger boarding allowed from Indore, Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamlapati, and Itarsi. The train journey will continue overnight.

10th June 2025: Journey Continues

More passengers can board at Betul and Nagpur. This day will be a full-day and overnight train journey toward Tirupati.

11th June 2025: Tirupati

Arrival at Renigunta Railway Station early in the morning. Passengers will be taken by road to Tirupati for freshening up and breakfast. Then, they will proceed to Tirupati Balaji Temple, one of the most famous and richest temples in India, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara (a form of Vishnu). Devotees believe that visiting this temple brings prosperity and spiritual peace. Note: Darshan at Tirumala Temple has to be arranged by passengers on their own. Overnight stay at Tirupati.

12th June 2025: Tirupati - Padmavati Temple Visit

After breakfast, passengers will visit the Padmavati Temple in Tiruchanur, dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi, the consort of Lord Venkateswara. This temple is considered highly sacred, and many pilgrims visit here after the Balaji darshan. In the evening, the train will depart for Rameswaram.

13th June 2025: Rameswaram

On arrival, passengers will visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. It is renowned for its grand architecture, the longest temple corridor in India, and sacred wells believed to purify sins. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is deeply connected to Lord Rama's journey in the Ramayana. If train access to Rameswaram is restricted, road transfer from Kudalnagar/Madurai will be arranged. Overnight stay at Rameswaram.

14th June 2025: Rameswaram to Madurai

In the afternoon, the group will travel to Madurai to visit the Meenakshi Temple, a marvel of Dravidian architecture. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (a form of Parvati) and Lord Sundareswarar (Shiva). With its towering gopurams and colorful carvings, it is one of the most famous temples in India. Late at night, the train will move toward Kanyakumari.

15th June 2025: Kanyakumari

Passengers will arrive at Nagarcoil/Kanyakumari station. After freshening up, they will visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, built in honor of Swami Vivekananda, where he is believed to have meditated. The Gandhi Mandapam marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi's ashes were kept before immersion. Passengers will also visit the Kanyakumari Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kumari Amman (a form of Parvati). The day ends with a beautiful sunset at the southernmost tip of India. Overnight stay in Kanyakumari.

16th June 2025: Kanyakumari - Thiruvananthapuram

After breakfast, the train will proceed to Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. Upon arrival, passengers will visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, known for its blend of Kerala and Tamil styles of architecture. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the reclining form and is famous for its underground treasures and historical significance. Late in the evening, the train will start the return journey to Indore.

17th June 2025: Full Day Train Journey

The entire day will be spent on the train as passengers travel back.

18th June 2025: Arrival in Indore

De-boarding of passengers will take place at Nagpur, Betul, Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Sehore, Shujalpur, Ujjain, and finally Indore. The tour ends with beautiful memories.
