In a major step towards making Noida safer and more commuter-friendly, the Noida Authority has planned a 400-meter-long circular skywalk at Sector-62/63 near the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. With an investment of Rs 40 crore, this new project aims to offer a safer way for about 50,000 people who cross the busy road every day. The skywalk will help both pedestrians and vehicles by easing the heavy traffic in the area.

A modern and inclusive design
This skywalk is not an ordinary one. Its circular shape will be a modern structure, made with people's comfort and safety in mind. To make it easy for everyone, the skywalk will have lifts and escalators on both sides. This will especially help seniors, women, and people with disabilities. It will also have an iron roof to protect people from sun and rain, making it useful in all seasons. These features show the Noida Authority's focus on building smart and inclusive infrastructure.
Improving travel between Noida and Ghaziabad
The skywalk will connect directly to an existing foot overbridge on the highway. This will help people move easily between Ghaziabad and Noida without crossing through the traffic. Earlier, a simple foot overbridge was planned, but after a study, it was found that it wouldn't meet the needs of the busy area. That's why the plan was changed to this more advanced and helpful design.
Solving traffic problems at Sector-62/63
Every day, around 50,000 people from Delhi, Meerut, Ghaziabad, and Noida pass through the Sector-62/63 intersection. This causes serious traffic jams because of the mixed movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The skywalk will separate pedestrian movement from vehicle flow, making the area safer and less chaotic.
Part of a bigger plan for better roads
This skywalk is also a part of a larger project to improve a 3.5 km stretch from Sector-62 to Mamura. The area has many offices, metro stations, and housing societies, and faces traffic jams, especially during office hours. The Noida Authority will also work on road widening, building footpaths, improving parking, and redesigning U-turns along this route. Improvements are also planned for three U-turn points from NH-9 to Mamura Chowk.
More support for commuters
To reduce the traffic caused by auto-rickshaws, a new auto stand will be built at the NH-9 entry point. The project tender has already been issued and many agencies have shown interest.
The detailed plan (DPR) has received initial approval, and IIT will review the skywalk design. Once cleared, work will begin soon. The skywalk is expected to set a new example of safe and smart travel in Noida.
