To ensure smooth traffic during the Navratri and Durga Puja celebrations, the Gaya Police have launched a detailed traffic management plan. This plan will be in effect from October 9 to October 13 and aims to reduce traffic jams and make it easier for both residents and visitors to move around the city.

Road Restrictions and Timings
Several important roads in Gaya will have restricted vehicle movement during this time. Both GB Road and Ramna Road will be closed to all vehicles from 6:00 AM until 3:00 AM the following day. Similarly, the roads leading to Kedarnath Market and Peer Mansoor Road, starting from the Collectorate Roundabout, will have restrictions between 1:00 PM and 3:00 AM. These restrictions are in place to handle the increased crowds and traffic that are expected during the festive days.
Parking Arrangements for Visitors
Special parking areas have been set up to manage the large number of visitors. If you're coming from Muffassil, you can park at Azad Park. Visitors from Tekari, Sikaria Mor, and Delha can park at the Gaya College playground. For those coming from Chand Chauraha, Kashinath Mor, Nutan Nagar, and Koiri Bari, parking has been arranged at the Zila School Ground. These designated parking spots are meant to help prevent traffic jams and ensure the smooth running of the celebrations without disturbing the city's usual routines.
Restrictions for Goods Carriers and Heavy Vehicles
Additional restrictions have been placed on the movement of pick-up vans and goods carriers. These vehicles will not be allowed in town from Ramshila Mor between 1:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Heavy vehicles will also be restricted from traveling between Muffassil Mor and Kirani Ghat from 6:00 AM to 3:00 AM. These rules are part of the police's larger effort to keep the roads clear for emergency services and essential traffic.
One-Way Routes and Community Cooperation
To further ease traffic flow, certain routes in Gaya will operate as one-way streets during the festival days. The police urge all drivers to strictly follow these one-way routes to avoid confusion and prevent accidents. Community cooperation is key to making sure the festival is safe and enjoyable for everyone.
The traffic plan by the Gaya Police is a carefully thought-out strategy to handle the expected increase in traffic during Navratri and Durga Puja. Residents and visitors are encouraged to follow the guidelines, park in the designated areas, and plan their travel routes in advance. By working together, everyone can enjoy a smooth, safe, and joyful festival experience.
