Indian Railways has revised the timetable of the Coimbatore-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express to improve operations and make the journey more convenient for passengers. This semi-high-speed train, which is operated by the South Western Railway zone, has been running regularly since January 1, 2024. The train runs between Coimbatore in

Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru in Karnataka, covering about 377 kilometres and taking around 6 hours and 20 minutes to complete the journey.
During its trip, the train stops at five important stations along the route. These stations include Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Hosur. The service runs six days a week, except Thursday, a fast and comfortable option for passengers between the two cities.
Changed Timings & Ticket Prices
According to the railway authorities, the main change in the revised schedule concerns the timing at Hosur station. From March 15, 2026, the train from Coimbatore to Bengaluru will reach Hosur 10 minutes later than the earlier schedule. Previously, the train arrived at Hosur at 12:03 pm, but under the new timetable, it will arrive at 12:13 pm and depart at 12:15 pm. However, the timings for all other stations will remain the same.
Under the existing schedule, train number 20642 leaves Coimbatore at 7:25 am and reaches Bengaluru Cantonment at 1:45 pm. On the return journey, train number 20641 departs from Bengaluru at 2:20 pm and arrives in Coimbatore at 8:40 pm.
Ticket prices vary depending on the type of seat. The fare for AC Chair Car is about ₹1,260, while the Executive Chair Car costs around ₹2,190.
