The Ridge in Gangtok is a small stretch of beautiful flat land. A spot favourite among both locals and tourists, the stretch extends from the entrance of the palace of the Namgyal Kings to the White Hall building constructed in memory of Claude White–Sikkim's first political officer.
The Ridge has a small attractive park present inside which is the Hava Ghar – a serene place to rest at with benches within. Also, many photographers will be roaming around the park from whom the tourists can get their instant pictures clicked.
Every traveller to The Ridge must visit the Flower Festival – a-year long expo of exquisite flowers that's held at the attractive glass house present opposite the White Hall. Starting in the month of March with the Orchids show, it continues till the end of the year and makes an interesting exhibit to pay a visit.
