Kishtwar is a town bustling with numerous trekking trails and stands as the chief base for treks all through the state of Kashmir. Mountains such as the Namtse at the height of 6000 m, Cathedral at 5370 m, Charcha at 6065 m, Lhalung, Eiger at 6001 m, and Sickle Moon at 6574 m are situated in proximity to the town.
The place is also known for its picturesque valleys such as Paddar, Marwah, and Dacchan. A cave called the Bhandarkote Cave is also a popular tourist attraction here.The destination is also known for Machail Yatra (travel), a popular Hindu pilgrimage. This yatra concludes in the Chandi Mata Ki Mandir which is located in Machail.
