Asavli Dam, Bordi

The Asavli Dam has an interesting architectural fact behind its origination. Found in the village of Bordi, this dam has been built in the same way – that is, manually – as the Great Pyramids of Egypt. The dimensions of the dam are an astonishing 1,160 feet long and about 78 feet high.

It is flanked by lakes, greenery and mountains on one side, while the other side is replete with fields and a tiny little village. The Asavli Dam proves to be an excellent spot for a picnic. It offers a mesmerizing view of the lofty scenic mountains where the Bahrot Caves are located.

The monsoon season makes for the best time to visit and explore this place given the lush greenery and the water gushing in full swell in the lakes. It is an ideal place to indulge in some secluded peace finding activity. There are several other water reservoirs and dams situated in the vicinity.
