The Bangalore City Corporation founded the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, which is now managed by Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE). The planetarium is located at Sir. T. Chowdaiah Road and also has a science centre and science park near it.
Slide projectors, video projectors and special effect projectors are used for different shows in the planetarium. The sky theatre shows here are popular among visitors. The exhibition hall here has astronomy photographs, cartoons, paintings and quotes.
It also has a stall from where visitors can buy books, astro-photos, telescopes, science kits, models, etc. Some of the events that take place here are Know Your Stars, Educational Activities and Viewing of Astronomical Events.
