Nagaland University is a Central University of India established in the year 1994. It has its campuses at Kohima, Dimapur, Medziphema and Zunheboto. The university headquarters is located in Lumami village in the Zunheboto district of Nagaland.
Nagaland University has 54 colleges affiliated to it. Approximately about 25000 students are registered to the university every year. The university offers courses in Humanities and Education, Social Science, Agricultural Science and Rural Development, Engineering and Management.
Zunheboto, an otherwise tucked-away destination of Nagaland has become prominent as the university is located here. Due to this reason, today Zunheboto has become a cultural hub where all the Naga tribal communities come and intermingle.
