Travel to the 6 Spectacular Viewpoints in India

There are many ways in which you can unwind yourself from your hectic daily life. Travelling is one of them. There are many places you can head to to relax and rejuvenate yourself and also disconnect yourself from the entire world. You can head to the the sandy beaches or to the pleasant hill stations in order to escape from your mundane life in the city. Then there are a few unique places as well that you can head to.

Among such unique spots in India are the various viewpoints in the country. Situated at various heights these viewpoints give you a panoramic view of the entire region and you will be left astounded by the beauty of nature that you are surrounded in. 1. St. Thomas Mount

The St. Thomas Mount is a small hillock located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and is very close to Chennai International Airport.  A flight of 160 steps leads up to the summit of this mount. Tourists coming here get a panoramic view of the city of Chennai. There is also a church here that is dedicated to Saint Thomas who was one of the disciples of Lord Jesus. The place is crowded during Christmas celebrations, but otherwise is a rather calm and tranquil spot.

2. Malabar Hill

Malabar Hill is a small hillock in southern Mumbai and is a luxury upmarket residential area. Situated at a height of 48.76 mt above the sea level, it is the highest point in South Mumbai offering a beautiful scenic view of the Queens Necklace. If you ever get the chance to walk till the end of Marine Drive, then venture upwards the hill and follow the main road, that will eventually take you to the Hanging Gardens, leading on to the Towers of Silence and ultimately to Kemps Corner. At night, you can have the wonderful unhindered view of the Arabian sea, Backbay, Chowpatty and the Marine Drive up to Nariman Point from up here.

3. Dona Paula

Dona Paula, a suburb of Goa's capital Panaji is a major tourist destination frequented by travellers round the year. Although a part of the city, this locality enjoys a pace that's much slower than the rest of the city of Panaji. It is a very famous viewpoint and you can take a lot of photographs here. It offers a magnificent view of the Mormugao Harbour and the sea. It is a perfect place to head to for relaxing and rejuvenating yourself.

4. Tashi Viewpoint

The Tashi Viewpoint is a a lovely spot located about 8 km away from Gangtok. You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Kanchenjunga mountains from this point, and to ensure the visitors comfort and recreation a cafeteria as well as an observation tower have been added to the spot. Apart from marvelling at the beauty of Mt Kanchenjunga, you can also see the sacred Phodong and Labrang monasteries from this viewpoint. The best time to head here is early in the morning when you can enjoy the spectacular views as you indulge in hot cups of coffee and steaming momos from the cafeteria.

5. Wilson Point

Wilson Point also called Sunrise Point is the highest point in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra and is located at an elevation of 1,439 mt above the sea level. It is the only viewpoint in Maharashtra from where you can relish the beautiful sight of both the sunrise and the sunset. This viewpoint has three observation towers from where you get panoramic views of the entire region.

6. Magnolia Point

Magnolia Point is located at a distance of 10 km from the town of Netarhat in Jharkhand and is known to offer stunning views of the sunset. The point is located close to the Vindhya Hills and attracts a lot of tourists here. You can trek up to the point or reach there by a vehicle. It provides a splendid view of nature and is sure to leave you mesmerised and asking for more.
