1. Nandi Hills
Nandi Hills is among the popular weekend getaway destinations around Bangalore. It boasts of various activities such as cycling, trekking and exploring. All this is located at a short distance of just 39 km from the Bangalore International Airport. You should be able to reach here in around an hour. You can enjoy the rather charming gardens at Nandi hills, along with certain other attractions such as the Tipu's Drop and Tipu Sultan's Fort located here. Head over to Nandi Hills to stretch your legs and take a breather before returning to the airport.

2. Devanahalli Fort
This stunning monument is very close to the Bangalore International Airport and is one of the easiest places to visit nearby. The distance is a mere 15.4 km, to a fort that has many tales to regale. The fort that has been passed many hands since its construction in 1501 is spread over a vast area of over 20 acres and large areas that were once battlements. You can still see within its embankments, the house that was the residence to Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan in the past. A heritage site that is Tipu Sultan's memorial is also located here.
3. Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple
Located at a short distance of 17.6 km from Nandi Hills is a place that should be visited by all lovers of art and heritage; the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple. This ancient temple that is said to date back to over 1,300 years old, is a stunning complex of architecture. The style is a confluence of various architectural styles, including Dravidian. The temple comprises of two complexes. Enjoy the lush green lawns, many stone pillars, intricate carvings and a melee of shops outside selling flowers and other puja items. Definitely a unique place to visit near the Bangalore Airport.

4. Nehru Nilaya
Among the things to do around the Bangalore International Airport is to visit the simple yet beautiful Nehru Nilaya. Situated at a distance of around 40 km from the Bangalore International Airport, the place is run by the horticulture department. The 150 year old building is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great spot for nature walks and relaxation. A far cry from the bustling chaos of Bangalore city. The heritage building on the campus even offers overnight stay options.

5. Embassy International Riding School
What is happening at the Embassy International Riding School you ask; located at a distance of about 18 km from the Bangalore International Airport, this happens to be the venue for some rather interesting events around Bangalore. Quickly check online to see if events such as the Soul Sante are taking place at the venue and head over for some fun time shopping, eating and relaxing in style!
6. Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Memorial
A great place to visit if you are seeking inspiration is the Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Memorial and Museum located in the village of Muddenahalli, at a distance of 21 km from the Bangalore International Airport. The memorial and museum is located in what was once Sir MV's home. Sir MV is among the iconic figures of India, an engineer, scholar, statesman and the then Diwan of Mysore, his achievements are many. He is responsible for the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagar dam in Mandya, the establishment of Mysore University, Mysore Chamber of Commerce, etc among many others. In 1955, he was conferred India's highest civillian honour, the Bharat Ratna. Even today, his birth anniversary is celebrated as the Engineer's Day across the country. Make a visit to the home of this legend, housing many objects that provide a peek into his life and pay respects at his memorial located nearby.

7. Prestige Golshire Club
Located at a distance of 23 km from Bangalore Airport is the Prestige Golshire Club. The golf course is well-maintained and lush green. It sure is a feast for the tired eyes. Also, the Falcon Greens Restaurant overlooking the greenery is a good option for lunch or brunch on the weekends. Take yourself here for a little pampering before hitting the road again.
8. Yoganandeeshwara Temple
A place of interest around the Bangalore Airport is another lovely temple called the Yoganandeeshwara Temple that is also over a 1,000 years old. It is the ideal spot for those who appreciate art and history. The temple sculptures and detailed carving can tempt you to observe them for a few hours. Take all the photos your heart desires and head back relaxed. It is located in Chikballapura, and is located nearly 30 km from the Bangalore International Airport.
