Bangalore – Nandi Hills
Nandi Hills is Bangalore's favourite weekend destination since it is located just about 62 km from the city. The route from Bangalore to Nandi Hills is well maintained and smooth which makes it a great route for cycling as well.
Imagine gradually escaping the city's busy life to reach a breathtaking hilltop that is surrounded with greenery on an early Sunday morning! The refreshing ride is perfect for beginners and might take 4-5 hours to reach Nandi Hills, depending on the cyclist's speed.

Chennai – Pondicherry
A ride through East Coast Road (ECR), that lies between Chennai and Pondicherry, can be the re-energising task that you need to do, to get back to your routine. The 150 km stretch can be covered with a gear cycle or a normal cycle, all you need is some energy and lots of motivation.
Along the way you can stop at Mahabalipuram where you can find fine restaurants. The whole ride might take 12 hours to complete, if you take many breaks and cycle with no hurry. Be careful with fast-moving vehicles on ECR.

Darjeeling – Gangtok
Usually favourite amongst bike riders, the route from Darjeeling to Gangtok can be a strenuous and challenging route for cyclists too, but completely worth it. Fulfil the adventure bug in you by taking up this cycling route that might take days to complete.
The distance between Darjeeling to Gangtok is almost 100 km, but since the route will mostly be through the mountainous region, it will be a tough way to go. You can make a proper pitstop at Rangpo which lies on the border of Sikkim.

Gokarna – Goa
Apart from partying or relaxing on shores of different beaches, you can try cycling from Gokarna to Goa or vice versa. Travel from one beach to another while exploring the lush greenery that comes on the way.
A small detour in the middle towards Karwar will take you to the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can stop and go for a short nature walk amidst the dense forest of this sanctuary. You might even spot animals, like monkeys, in the forest. The ride might take 1-2 days to complete.
Kochi – Munnar
A ride from the busy city of Kochi to the lush tea plantations of Munnar can be a refreshing break. Notice the changing landscape from the busy traffic roads of Kochi to breathtaking greenery on the way. The distance to cover is about 130 km and might take 1 or 2 days to be completed.
Hilly terrains, ghat sections, coupled with rich greenery, are some of the vistas that you will witness on this journey.

Many adventure clubs arrange group cycling from Manali to Rohtang Pass, which has made it a popular cycling route in India. The 150 km herculean ride will take 4-6 days to be completed with camping at different places like Naggar, Solang Nala, etc.
This challenging route is for those who have very good experience with long-distance cycling, since you will be going upwards to higher altitudes. With the spellbinding vistas of lofty mountains, lush greenery and pristine nature to accompany you, this trip will surely be an experience you'll never forget!
