A ride through East Coast Road (ECR), that lies between Chennai and Pondicherry, can be the re-energising task that you need to do, to get back to your routine. The 150 km stretch can be covered with a gear cycle or a normal cycle, all you need is some energy and lots of motivation.

Along the way you can stop at Mahabalipuram where you can find fine restaurants. The whole ride might take 12 hours to complete, if you take many breaks and cycle with no hurry. Be careful with fast-moving vehicles on ECR.

The distance between Darjeeling to Gangtok is almost 100 km, but since the route will mostly be through the mountainous region, it will be a tough way to go. You can make a proper pitstop at Rangpo which lies on the border of Sikkim.

A small detour in the middle towards Karwar will take you to the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can stop and go for a short nature walk amidst the dense forest of this sanctuary. You might even spot animals, like monkeys, in the forest. The ride might take 1-2 days to complete.
