Onam Special Trains: South Central Railway will Operate Services between Charlapalli & Kottayam

South Central Railway (SCR) will operate special trains between Charlapalli in Hyderabad and Kottayam in Kerala to handle the expected increase in passenger traffic during the Onam festival. The special services will run on selected dates in August, giving passengers an additional travel option between Telangana and Kerala.

Onam Special Train between Charlapalli & Kottayam

Train No. 07197, the Charlapalli-Kottayam special train, will operate on August 16, 23 and 30. The train will leave Charlapalli at 7:15 am on these dates and reach Kottayam at 12:25 pm the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 07198, the Kottayam-Charlapalli special train, will run on August 17, 24 and 31. It will depart from Kottayam at 4:45 pm and reach Charlapalli at 12:30 am the next day.

The special trains have been introduced mainly to manage the additional rush with increased seating arrangements expected during the Onam holiday period. Passengers travelling between Hyderabad and Kerala can use these special services to plan their journeys around the festival. The trains will also provide a convenient option for people who may not be able to get confirmed tickets on regular services due to the seasonal rush.
