The Railway Board has approved seven new Amrit Bharat Express trains to improve rail connectivity across different parts of India. These trains are designed to offer modern facilities and a comfortable travel experience similar to Vande Bharat trains, while keeping fares affordable for lower- and lower-middle-income passengers.
Amrit Bharat Express Trains
The new services will connect cities and towns across northern, central, western and southern India. Most of the services will operate weekly, although the frequency of some trains may vary.
The Dhanbad-Coimbatore Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 22363/22364, will connect Jharkhand with Tamil Nadu. Its stops include Dhanbad, Gomoh, Parasnath, Koderma, Gaya, Sasaram, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Mirzapur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Warangal, Vijayawada, Nellore, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur, among other stations.
The Prayagraj-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 20436/20435, will be a weekly service stopping at Prayagraj, Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Bhusaval and Kalyan.
The Prayagraj-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 20437/20438, will stop at Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah, Tundla, Agra, Bayana, Gangapur City, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara and Udhna, besides Prayagraj and other stations.
The Subedarganj-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 14121/14122, will run via Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Banda, Chitrakutdham Karwi, Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Nashik Road, Kalyan and Thane.
The Gorakhpur-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 15095/15096, will stop at Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Burhwal, Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Ghaziabad before reaching Delhi.
The Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 15085/15086, will stop at Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Badshahnagar, Aishbagh, Kanpur Central, Agra Fort, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Palghar and Borivali before reaching Bandra Terminus.
The seventh service, Charlapalli-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 22075/22076, will connect Telangana with Uttar Pradesh. It will stop at Kazipet, Peddapalli, Manchiryal, Balharshah, Nagpur, Itarsi, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda and Gorakhpur, among other stations.
The expansion is expected to give passengers more affordable long-distance travel options and improve connectivity between several major cities and smaller towns.
