Guhagar literally translates to 'Cave house' but no there is no cave! This a piece of land which runs in parallel with the Arabian Sea. The region is called Kokan (not to be confused with Konkan) which is an offbeat place.

Guhagar is situated in Kokan region of Ratnagiri district. This coastal town is around 46km from the city of Chiplun.

Guhagar can be reached by road from Chiplun. It comes on the way towards Satara via NH4. Chiplun Railway Station is the nearest railway station to reach Guhagar.
