Bangalore Fort, also known as Tipu Sultan Fort, is one of the best tourist places of the city. Located near the City Market, the structure is one of the finest examples of Islamic architecture. A visit to the fort is also a visit to the artistic past of the place. The structure was a summer retreat palace of Tipu Sultan.

Inspired by the Windsor Castle, the palace was built by the Wodeyars, the then rulers of the city. Following the Gothic style of architecture, this stupendous structure is built on an area of 400 acres of land. Known for its wood work and carvings, the Bangalore Palace is not to be missed on a holiday trip to the city.

Cubbon Park is one of the major landmarks of the Bangalore city. The park was laid in 1864 by the then viceroy of India, Sir Mark Cubbon. The huge park spread across an area of around 250 acres, and is often frequented by walkers and joggers apart from tourists. The park compound has some of the historically relevant monuments of the city like the Government Museum, Vidhana Soudha and the High Court.
