When it comes to beaches in India, the first name that comes to any person's mind is Goa. Goa is truly one of the most happening places in the country with great beaches which makes it a major hotspot. But at times due to the excessive crowd, the place kind of loses its charm.
Apart from Goa, there are tons of other popular beaches and the not-so-popular beaches across the coastal line of the country. The beach at Kovalam is one amongst the popular beaches which has a relatively less crowd than the other popular ones. The beach is known for its calm waves, the lighthouse and the mesmerizing sunsets and sunrises from its shore.
Likewise, there are a number of equally beautiful beaches in India, which are waiting to be marked in the tourist maps. All said and done, we have found a few such beaches which are perfect and beautiful as Goa is; hence, get your bags ready and head to these seaside getaways across the country.
1. Devka Beach, Daman and Diu
The Devka Beach has a lot to offer its visitors starting from the sands in the hues of gold, a very generous cover of palm trees and the beautiful sea breeze which makes it a place to be visited throughout the year. The beach also offers many water sports such as para sailing, surfing and many more.
You can enjoy the cool sea breeze along with a cup of your favorite beverage without anyone bothering you and rejuvenate yourself.

2. Agatti Island, Lakshadweep
A relatively smaller beach in length of just 5.6 km, the Island of Agatti is one amongst the least inhabited islands in the country.
The island has a large variety of marine life and coral reefs and is well known for its clear waters, which also makes it one of the perfect spots in the country for scuba diving, kayaking and snorkeling.

3. Diveagar Beach, Maharashtra
This beach has soft and shiny sands on its shore and is home to a large variety of crabs. These have made the seashore their home and are an added attraction here.
Adding on further to your experience here is the gentle waves which come gushing to the rocky patches. Come here only if you would like to spend your time doing nothing apart from enjoying the sea breeze.

4. Kovalam Beach, Kerala
This beach has a long coastline of 17 km. Kovalam is a beach which would be a perfect spot only for those who would love to spend their time instantly connecting with nature at its best.
The coastline boasts not just of a single beach here but three. Come to this beautiful beach to enjoy stunning sunsets and also to scale up the vintage lighthouse.

5. Ramakrishna Beach, Andhra Pradesh
One amongst the beautiful beaches on the eastern coast is the Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam or Vizag. The beach is a perfect place for one to enjoy a game of beach volleyball or take a swim in the Bay of Bengal or just have a nice good sunbath.

6. Radhanagar Beach, Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The beach which offers you an out of the world experience is situated in Havelock and has gained immense fame for its clear blue waters and white sands.
It is also one of the most preferred destinations for those who would love to indulge in the activities of scuba diving and snorkeling. The experience which you gain here would for sure transport you to a different world.

7. Gopalpur Beach, Odisha

Located on the Bay of Bengal coast, very close to the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border, Gopalpur Beach is one of the most popular tourist attractions. The beach town of Gopalpur is popular for the backwaters of Gopalpur sea. One can also indulge in the numerous water sports that take place here. It is also famous for Gopalpur Beach Festival.
8. Bakkhali Beach, West Bengal

The seaside hamlet of Bakkhali in West Bengal is one of many beautiful deltaic islands of Bengal. The most famous attraction is the Bakkhali Beach, which is an unusual south-facing crescent-shaped beach, that offers stunning views during both sunset as well as sunrise. 9. Marari Beach, Kerala

10. Ganpatipule Beach, Maharashtra

Of the numerous beautiful beaches strewn across the Konkan Coast of Maharashtra, Ganpatipule is one of the famous ones. It is known for its pristine shores, white sand and a self-originated Ganesh temple that draws a lot of visitors and devotees throughout the year. 11. Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, Kannur

Located in a tiny coastal village of Muzhappilangad, in Kannur district of Kerala, Muzhappilangad is the only drive-in beach in India. The Mandarmani Beach in West Bengal was also one of the drive-in beaches until recent times, but driving on the shore is no more allowed by the local authorities now. 12. Dhanushkodi Beach, Ramesawaram

13. Yarada Beach, Visakhapatnam

Surrounded by rocky hills and cliffs, the lesser-known Yarada Beach of Andhra Pradesh is a perfect escape for offbeat travellers. The coastal village of Yarada is located about 15 km from Visakhapatnam on the west coast of Bay of Bengal. Gangavaram Port and beach are other must-see places when in Yarada. Do not miss the Dolphin's Nose - a sedimentary hill formation located by the beach.
14. Elephant Beach, Havelock Island

Andaman and Nicobar islands are known for their stunning beaches. While the Radhanagar Beach is the most famous one, also known to be the cleanest beach, the other beaches of the islands are no less, especially in terms of their beauty. The Elephant Beach of Havelock Island is one such picturesque beaches that will leave you speechless. White sand, turquoise water, swaying mangroves and fallen tree trunks add for a surreal view that will fill you with awe.
