When it comes to beaches in India, the first name that comes to any person's mind is Goa. Goa is truly one of the most happening places in the country with great beaches which makes it a major hotspot. But at times due to the excessive crowd, the place kind of loses its charm.
Apart from Goa, there are tons of other popular beaches and the not-so-popular beaches across the coastal line of the country. The beach at Kovalam is one amongst the popular beaches which has a relatively less crowd than the other popular ones. The beach is known for its calm waves, the lighthouse and the mesmerizing sunsets and sunrises from its shore.

1. Devka Beach, Daman and Diu
The Devka Beach has a lot to offer its visitors starting from the sands in the hues of gold, a very generous cover of palm trees and the beautiful sea breeze which makes it a place to be visited throughout the year. The beach also offers many water sports such as para sailing, surfing and many more.

2. Agatti Island, Lakshadweep
A relatively smaller beach in length of just 5.6 km, the Island of Agatti is one amongst the least inhabited islands in the country.
The island has a large variety of marine life and coral reefs and is well known for its clear waters, which also makes it one of the perfect spots in the country for scuba diving, kayaking and snorkeling.

3. Diveagar Beach, Maharashtra
This beach has soft and shiny sands on its shore and is home to a large variety of crabs. These have made the seashore their home and are an added attraction here.
Adding on further to your experience here is the gentle waves which come gushing to the rocky patches. Come here only if you would like to spend your time doing nothing apart from enjoying the sea breeze.

4. Kovalam Beach, Kerala
This beach has a long coastline of 17 km. Kovalam is a beach which would be a perfect spot only for those who would love to spend their time instantly connecting with nature at its best.
The coastline boasts not just of a single beach here but three. Come to this beautiful beach to enjoy stunning sunsets and also to scale up the vintage lighthouse.

5. Ramakrishna Beach, Andhra Pradesh
One amongst the beautiful beaches on the eastern coast is the Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam or Vizag. The beach is a perfect place for one to enjoy a game of beach volleyball or take a swim in the Bay of Bengal or just have a nice good sunbath.

11. Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, Kannur

Located in a tiny coastal village of Muzhappilangad, in Kannur district of Kerala, Muzhappilangad is the only drive-in beach in India. The Mandarmani Beach in West Bengal was also one of the drive-in beaches until recent times, but driving on the shore is no more allowed by the local authorities now. 14. Elephant Beach, Havelock Island
