Buddhist Monastery, Sangla

Buddhist Monastery, situated in proximity to Sangla is a noted religious centre and tourist attraction. The monastery is situated near Reckong Peo in Brelengi owing to which, it is also known as the Brelengi Gompa.

Built by the Mahabodhi Society in 1992, this monastery depicts the modern Buddhist monument. This monastery was built for Dalai Lama, who came in the region to perform the Kalachakra Ceremony. A 10 m tall statute of Buddha, in standing position, is situated close to this monastery.
