The place is better known as Devgarh of Bihar and acts as a pilgrimage centre for devotees of Lord Shiva. It is located near Dalsinghsarai block adjacent to the banks of the Ganga river. Vidyapati Nagar has been named after the famous Maithili poet Vidyapati. According to beliefs, the legendary poet in his search of Lord Shiva, breathed last at this place.
