Kainchi Dham, a famous spiritual site in Uttarakhand, attracts thousands of devotees every year. However, the narrow roads and limited parking have caused frequent traffic congestion, especially on weekends and festivals. To solve this issue, local authorities are launching a shuttle service from March 26, 2025. This service will help pilgrims reach the temple smoothly while reducing traffic problems in the area.
A Solution to Traffic Problems
The shuttle service is being introduced to manage the increasing number of visitors at Kainchi Dham, founded by Neem Karoli Baba. Due to the temple's popularity, the roads leading to it often get blocked, making travel difficult for both pilgrims and local residents. By encouraging devotees to park their vehicles in designated areas and take shuttle buses, authorities aim to improve traffic flow and provide a hassle-free pilgrimage experience.
Shuttle Service Timings and Parking Areas
To make travel easier, specific parking spots have been assigned based on the route pilgrims take:
- From Haldwani via Bhimtal - Pilgrims should park at the Industrial Area Bhimtal car park.
- From Haldwani via Jyolikot-Bhowali - Parking is available near Bhowali Sanatorium, which is about 1.5 km from Kainchi Bypass.
Shuttle buses will operate at the following timings:

Traffic Control Measures
Apart from the shuttle service, local authorities have imposed restrictions on heavy vehicles to further ease congestion. On weekends and festivals, heavy vehicles will not be allowed near Kainchi Dham from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. This step will help reduce delays and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Authorities have also urged pilgrims to follow traffic rules and cooperate with law enforcement to make the new system successful.

The administration is considering long-term solutions to improve connectivity to Kainchi Dham. Future plans may include upgrading roads and expanding parking areas to accommodate more visitors.
