To enhance safety and convenience for devotees visiting the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) is set to introduce Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) registration at Katra railway station. The initiative aims to manage long queues and streamline chaotic conditions, providing pilgrims with a more organized and efficient experience during peak rush hours.

RFID Registration at Katra Railway Station:
Chief Executive Officer Anshul Garg emphasized that the well-being and ease of devotees are the top priorities for SMVDSB. The introduction of RFID registration at Katra railway station will see the establishment of multiple registration counters to handle the influx of pilgrims. This step is a part of ongoing efforts to improve the pilgrimage experience for devotees from around the world. Garg also revealed plans for a laser show at Banganga, narrating Mata Ki Kahani, to add an engaging dimension to the conventional pilgrimage routes.
Development Initiatives for Pilgrim Comfort:
To further enhance the comfort and convenience of pilgrims, holding areas are being developed at Adhkuwari. These areas will have the capacity to accommodate approximately 2500 to 3,000 pilgrims simultaneously, ensuring effective crowd management and providing a more pleasant experience for devotees.

Vaishnavi Bhawan and Improved Facilities:
The construction of a new Vaishnavi Bhawan is underway, with a capacity to accommodate 300 pilgrims per day. The facility, slated to be completed in 18 months, will feature a Bhojanalya (dining area) coupled with washrooms, aiming to make the stay for pilgrims more pleasant and congenial. This development aligns with the commitment of SMVDSB to continually improve facilities for the devotees.
Illumination of Holy Buildings:
To add to the grandeur of the shrine, Chief Executive Officer Anshul Garg shared plans to permanently illuminate the façade of the buildings at Darshni Deodi, Adhkuwari, and the main Bhawan with digitally controlled, multicolored LED lights. Taking inspiration from iconic religious sites such as the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Dham, and the Golden Temple, these lights will be activated during the upcoming Chaitra Navratri. The dazzling display aims to reflect the divine splendor of the shrine, creating a visually enchanting atmosphere for devotees.
As the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board introduces RFID registration at Katra railway station and undertakes various development initiatives, the pilgrimage experience for devotees is poised to become more seamless and enjoyable. With a focus on safety, convenience, and enhancing the overall visit, these measures signify a commitment to providing devotees with an organized and spiritually fulfilling journey to the holy shrine. The SMVDSB's dedication to continuous improvement ensures that pilgrims from across the globe can embark on their spiritual journey with ease and tranquility.
