New Delhi: The upcoming full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day parade is set to disrupt vehicular traffic in central Delhi on Tuesday, prompting authorities to issue an advisory urging the public to plan their journeys accordingly.

The rehearsal, mimicking the parade's route on Republic Day, is scheduled to commence at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk, proceeding through Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue roundabout, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhas Marg before concluding at the Red Fort.
To facilitate the smooth passage of the parade, Kartavya Path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will be closed to traffic from 6 pm on Monday until the conclusion of the rehearsal on Tuesday. Cross-traffic on Kartavya Path at Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road will be restricted from 11 pm on Monday until the parade concludes.

Additionally, C-Hexagon to India Gate will be shut to traffic from 9:15 am on Tuesday until the parade passes Tilak Marg. Traffic in both directions will not be allowed on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhas Marg from 10:30 am on Tuesday, with cross-traffic only permitted based on the parade's movement.
The advisory recommends commuters plan their journeys in advance, avoiding the parade route from 9:30 am to 1 pm. While metro services will remain operational from all stations during the dress rehearsal, boarding and de-boarding at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations will be restricted from 5 am to 12 pm.
Though no restrictions have been imposed on traffic from north Delhi to New Delhi railway station or Old Delhi railway station, the advisory advises planning journeys in advance to avoid potential delays.

City bus movement will be restricted at various points, and the advisory provides alternative routes for buses coming from Ghaziabad and National Highway-24. Heavy transport and light goods vehicles won't be allowed to enter Delhi from 11 pm on Monday until the parade concludes. These vehicles will only be permitted on Ring Road between ISBT-Sarai Kale Khan and ISBT-Kashmiri Gate from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday.
Furthermore, the advisory prohibits the flying of various aerial platforms over the National Capital Territory of Delhi until February 15. Motorists are reminded to adhere to traffic rules and follow personnel directions at intersections.
